Why Storytelling?

According to a series of experiments in his lab, scientist  Paul Zak, Ph.D, has shown that the neurochemical  oxytocin is produced when humans engage with a story.

Further research by economist Michael Kosfeld shows,  that an increase in Oxytocin increases investors' trust  considerably.

Why Mindfulness?

MRI scans show that after an 8-week course of mindfulness practice, the brain’s “fight or  flight” center, the amygdala, appears to shrink. This  primal region of the brain, associated with fear and  emotion, is involved in the initiation of the body’s  response to stress.

As the amygdala shrinks, the pre-frontal cortex  -associated with higher order brain functions such as  awareness, concentration and decision-making becomes thicker.

Why Empathy?

Empathy allows human beings to understand each other in a way that compels us to take immediate action above and beyond the usual call-of-duty. Empathy is not spoken, but felt. Empathy requires courage. Empathy requires nourishment. Empathy prioritizes your audience’s needs over your own.

When you speak not for your own benefit, but for the benefits of others, then, and only then can you truly become a masterful communicator and impactful leader in your field.
